Dear Sir/Madam:

As a Master  Technician, I can attest to the ill effects of prolonged heat exposure on a stern drive. Regardless of whether it's a 3.0 L/Alpha or a 502 Mag./Bravo, stern drives are under a tremendous load all the time and temperatures inside them can easily exceed 280 degrees. This causes the oil to foam and eventually break down, which can  lead to drive failure. An indication that the drive is running too hot is the white chalky mineral deposits that form on the upper portion of the drive, and  in extreme cases, the paint will discolor. The cloud of smoke that most boaters  see when the boat first comes off plane is not exhaust from the engine, it is actually steam generated from the hot drive entering the water. Your drive shower with the multiport delivery system that targets the sides of the drive as well  as the top, seems to be the best remedy for this condition. For a fraction of  the cost of a new or even rebuilt stern drive, and a ten minute installation time, I feel that every boat should have a Multiport Drive Shower. What a great idea!

Very truly yours,
